The Italian streetwear brand BACKSIDECLUB might have flown underneath your radar, but for Spring/Summer 2023 the imprint is here to dominate. In this increasingly saturated market, it’s easy for emerging brands to get lost in the hustle and bustle caused by its competitors, but BACKSIDECLUB knows how to stand out — utilizing prints, washes, fabrics and branding in a tried-and-tested manner to qualify as both a streetwear label and a contemporary luxe name.
It does so by using materials from Japan, gabardine, handworked embellishment and embroidery, cotton weighing 200 grams, 3M tape, hand-graffiti, and 500-gram cotton for its sweaters that are made on Japanese loom machines. With this, BSC presents an SS23 collection comprising workwear garments covered in digitalized camouflage, stonewashed gabardine boonie hats, and luxuriously weighty tracksuits in grey with piping for the aforementioned feel of luxe streetwear.
Elsewhere, orange sweaters are washed in vintage machines and painted with spray paint to create a white sunset across the hazy piece, adding a retro aesthetic, while other sweaters sport a collage of botanical florals. Rounding off the drop is a range of graphic tees and flannels.
