Hope Handicrafts is run by Human and Hope Association Inc., a registered charity in Australia. We sell these handicrafts to raise funds and awareness for Human and Hope Association Cambodia, a locally run, grassroots organisation that aims to alleviate poverty in their community. We are run by volunteers, meaning ALL proceeds are sent back to Cambodia. That’s got to make you feel good!
We are called Hope Handicrafts because when you make a purchase you are providing hope. Hope to the women in Cambodia who make the handicrafts, hope to Human and Hope Association who use the proceeds to provide programs to their community, and hope to the people in Cambodia.
Our handicrafts are made by Cambodian women. These women have studied in the 10-month sewing program at Human and Hope Association in Siem Reap, Cambodia. They make these handicrafts at their homes, enabling them to watch over their children at the same time. All our seamstresses earn a fair wage, receive constant development opportunities from Human and Hope Association, and take out interest-free microfinance loans to purchase sewing machines.
Our handicrafts are made from traditional Khmer fabrics and cotton fabric.
Apart from selling our gorgeous handicrafts online, we are often at Balmain Market and Grounds of Alexandria Markets in Sydney. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for dates.
We can put you in touch with the amazing team at Human and Hope Association to organise custom orders. They have experience working with businesses to create custom pieces.
We offer discounts on wholesale orders. Just contact us and we can work out a deal!
The sales of our handicrafts go right back to Human and Hope Association, who provide support education, vocational training and community support programs for marginalised Cambodians.
